The death of Alexander J. A. Alexander which occurred at 'Woodburn House' near Versailles, Kentucky, at the age of 54 years, removed from the Southern Presbyterian Church one of its most interested friends. Dr. Alexander supported several missionaries, educated several Koreans as physicians, and was himself also a medical missionary to Korea for a short time. He also devoted a large part of his time to political duties. He was chairman of the Democratic Forward League, a 'dry' organization inside of the Democratic party.
