Memo:
An anesthesiologist. He attracted national attention in 1969 during nomination hearings for his appointment as Director of the Bureau of Medicine in the US Food and Drug Administration, when he strongly urged generic names to reduce the cost to the patient. His nomination was later withdrawn. Former Clinical Professor of Surgery at Tulane University and Professor of Anesthesiology at Louisiana State University School of Medicine, he also served as Associate Director of Charity Hospital in New Orleans. In recognition of his distinguished achievement in medicine, Dr. Adriani was awarded the Gold Medal of the P&S Alumni Association in 1967. Photo.
