Manuscript album with photographs, plans, and diagrams showing the arrangement of the lecture hall at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons for each of Lefferts' 28 lectures on the diseases of the throat and nose. There are 33 full-page mounted photographs, most of which document the arrangement of teaching materials and equipment in the lecture hall, but which also include exterior and interior views of the Vanderbilt Clinic on Amsterdam Avenue and West 60th St.

The lettering, plans, drawings, and diagrams are the work of Samuel Wood Thurber (1867-1926), an 1894 graduate of the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
