Manuscript notes of George E. Brewer on his surgical lectures delivered to the students of the New York Training School for Nurses, which was attached to the municipal City Hospital located on Blackwell's Island (later Welfare Island, now Roosevelt Island) in New York City. He discusses infection, shock, hemorrhage, aseptic and antiseptic surgery, anesthesia, and head injuries.
Though the notes are not dated, they are written on Brewer's stationary bearing his office address for 1896-1900 so they cannot predate 1896.
