Historical/Biographical Note:

Louis Faugères Bishop, the son of Dr. Louis F. Bishop, a pioneer U.S. cardiologist, and his wife Charlotte Gruner Bishop, was born in New York City, April 20, 1901. He was educated at Yale (Class of 1921) and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (M.D., 1925).
