Photograph album created by Barbara Tanis Fetzer documenting her last year at the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, 1941-1942.

Historical/Biographical Note:

Barbara Tanis graduated from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing (later the Columbia University School of Nursing) in 1942.  After her marriage to Eugene L. Fetzer in November 1943 she appears to have left the nursing field.  She was born August 19, 1921 and was raised in Schenectady, New York.  She and her husband had two children and lived in Stamford, Connecticut.  She died December 6, 2015.

Scope and Content:

Photograph album created by Barbara Tanis Fetzer documenting her last year at the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, 1941-1942.  Included are images of classmates, faculty, doctors, the School of Nursing alumni day, and the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.  A smaller number of photos are of family members including her husband, Eugene L. Fetzer, in military uniform. Album covers missing.
