Hillard's patient records from his practice in Westerly, Rhode Island and vicinity, with notes describing illnesses or injuries, treatments, and results. Inserted or pasted in the volume are temperature charts, birth and death certificates, burial permits, letters from patients, and newspaper clippings. There are also a subpoena ticket and clippings relating to the 1900 legal case of Celine Schweizer, who had an accident on the Pawcatuck Valley Street Railway and at whose trial Hillard testified.
History and Biography
Hillard graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in 1893. During the period covered by this case book he was practicing in Westerly, Rhode Island.
