Died at his home in Manhattan, aged 98. An internist with special interests in meningitis, encephalitis, and poliomyelitis, he served from 1941 to 1946 as a division chief in the New York City Department of Health, supervising programs related to infections of the nervous system. A devoted public servant, practitioner, and clinical teacher, he had been a professor of clinical medicine at New York University School of Medicine. Photo
