History and Biography
The Council of the Dept. of Neurology was established in 1927 to guide and develop the department’s teaching and research, probably in anticipation of the medical school’s move to the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in 1928.
Faculty members were also attending physicians at the Neurological Institute of New York. All professorial grade department members constituted the Council along with the Director of the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
